A collaborative beauty project inspired by the iconic Grace Jones with Made Better Media, Simon Webster Hair and XoeMUA
In advance of the Bloodlight and Bami film release (and owed to some long term love for Grace Jones) we set upon a creative collaboration to express Jones' larger than life, fierce and androgynous presence and to somehow distill it into a 60 second video and a couple of stills.
Collaborations can be an incredible tool for testing new kit or ideas but it's always exciting when others feel a connection to the work. Within two hours of posting the piece on Instagram hair inspo account @Hairbrained_official, the video had clocked in just under 4,300 views. From there, hair industry leader Creative Head magazine picked up the work for an Education:Ideas feature exposing the project to their 72,000 per issue readership base and Simon subsequently presented the work live on stage at Salon International.
